Thomas FinOps

End-user licence agreement

Effective September 15, 2026.

Private-use terms

These terms govern the private, local use of Thomas FinOps. Publication of these terms does not imply that Intuit has approved the proposed private-app arrangement.

Parties and permitted user

The licensor and operator is Thomas Barcier. The only permitted user is the single owner/operator using Thomas FinOps without a fee for their own authorized QuickBooks Online company. No licence for public, multi-tenant, resale, or third-party use is offered. Questions may be sent to thomas@thomasbarcier.com.

Licence

Subject to these terms and Intuit's applicable terms, the operator may run one local copy of the connector solely to retrieve, validate, compare, and stage authorized monthly accounting reports. The connector may not be used to access a company without authorization or to circumvent QuickBooks permissions.

Operational limits

The connector is a reporting aid, not bookkeeping, audit, tax, legal, banking, payment, or investment advice. An API response or matching export does not establish that the books are complete or reconciled. Review exceptions and source records before relying on staged results.

QuickBooks access

The implementation is intentionally read-only for accounting data. It has no operation for creating, editing, deleting, journalling, paying, reconciling, or changing bank feeds in QuickBooks Online. Intuit's accounting OAuth scope is broader than a reporting-only permission, so this boundary is enforced by the connector's code and tests.

Credentials and authorized use

The operator is responsible for protecting their Intuit credentials, local encryption key, computer account, and authorized company access. Credentials and authorization codes must not be pasted into public pages, support messages, logs, or source control.

Data and privacy

Use of QuickBooks data is described in the privacy policy. The current connector stores tokens and snapshots encrypted on the operator's local computer and does not publish financial data through this site.

Disconnect and deletion

The owner may stop using the connector and disconnect at any time. The local disconnect control blocks retrieval, asks Intuit to revoke the selected authorization, and removes the selected connection's local OAuth credentials only after Intuit confirms revocation. A failed or unresolved revocation is not reported as successful and leaves retrieval blocked.

Disconnect does not delete historical reports. Deletion is a separate local action: the owner previews and confirms the exact encrypted snapshots selected for ordinary filesystem deletion. The connector does not claim secure erasure of backups, disk remnants, or copies outside its configured snapshot directory. The privacy policy explains retention and deletion in more detail.

No guarantee

The connector is provided as is and as available, without a guarantee that reports, classifications, availability, or results will be uninterrupted, complete, accurate, or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or other legal right that applicable law does not permit the licensor to exclude.

Governing law and stopping use

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. The owner may stop use and disconnect at any time. Stopping use does not itself delete retained reporting evidence; deletion remains the separate process described above. These terms do not create a commercial service-level commitment, indemnity, arbitration clause, or invented liability cap.
